At Alma Animal Hospital in Dunbar, Vancouver, our Wellness Program offers bundled, life-stage specific plans for puppies, kittens, adult dogs and cats, and senior pets. The Puppy Wellness Plan covers everything your puppy needs in their critical first year. It includes a series of wellness visits aligned with the vaccination schedule, physical examinations, fecal testing, deworming, microchipping, and guidance on nutrition, house training, socialization, and parasite prevention. We use these early visits not only to protect your puppy’s health but to establish a trusting relationship between your puppy and our team. Puppies who have positive, low-stress veterinary experiences early in life are far more cooperative patients throughout their lives.
The Kitten Wellness Plan provides structured care through the pivotal first year of your kitten’s life. It includes wellness visits timed to the FVRCP and FeLV vaccine series, physical assessments, FIV and FeLV testing, fecal screening, deworming, microchipping, and guidance on litter box habits, nutrition, and socialization. We discuss spay and neuter timing at your kitten’s early visits and ensure the entire first year is planned and organized before you leave the clinic. A well-cared-for kitten becomes a healthier, more confident adult cat.
Adult dogs and cats between approximately 1 and 7 years of age benefit from annual wellness visits that keep preventive care consistent and allow our team to track gradual changes in health over time. The Adult Pet Wellness Plan includes an annual physical examination, core vaccine review and boosters as due, fecal testing, heartworm or parasite screening as appropriate, dental assessment, body condition scoring, and nutritional guidance. Consistency is one of the most valuable things you can provide for your adult pet’s long-term health.
Pets are considered senior at approximately 7 years of age, though large and giant breeds may reach senior status earlier. As pets age, the frequency and depth of wellness monitoring increases. The Senior Pet Wellness Plan includes biannual physical examinations, comprehensive senior bloodwork and urinalysis, blood pressure monitoring, weight and mobility assessment, dental evaluation, and pain assessment. Many age-related conditions are manageable when detected early. Regular senior monitoring allows us to support your pet’s quality of life through every stage of their later years.
